PBS national broadcast – Dr. Lori Mosca’s 3 Keys to Heart Health – Heart disease is the number one killer of women – Dr. Mosca teaches women how to prevent heart disease and improve the health of the whole family.

Webisodes introducing a new Patient Self-Management Support website launched by the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). The webisodes feature clinicians who have successfully integrated SMS practices in diverse clinical settings to help patients better manage their chronic diseases.

Putting Quality Into Practice – American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation – This widely praised documentary focuses on ten physician groups around the country that are successfully applying quality improvement in their practices. The program resides on the ABIM Foundation website and YouTube.

Managing Medical Quality – Dr. Donald Berwick partnered with Advise & Consent from 1992-5 to create Managing Medical Quality, a media education series that helped spark broader acceptance for quality improvement practices in health care and helped position Dr. Berwick as the leading authority on improving quality. Dr. Berwick was founder and CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (www.ihi.org) and Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

ABIM Foundation engaged Advise & Consent to produce interviews with health care thought leaders and consumer advocates for a new web channel, Professionalism Matters. Accessible through the ABIM Foundation website and YouTube, the channel encourages physicians to initiate a dialogue with colleagues about their role in improving quality, access and affordability for all patients.

Dr. John Ware, an acknowledged thought leader in health measurement, and the Tufts University School of Medicine collaborated with Advise & Consent to produce an accredited, 15-part educational multi-media series, Understanding Health Outcomes.

Ken worked with Dr. Ware and his team to found QualityMetric (www.qualitymetric.com), a leading company developing and analyzing patient-reported health outcomes surveys. Ken served as Director of Education and External Relations. In March 2010, QualityMetric was acquired by UnitedHealth Group (UHG) and is now part of OptumInsight, a UHG company.
